Terms of Use

Terms governing access to and use of RetireON’s retirement planning tools and educational content.

Last updated: July 20, 2026

1. Usage and Licensing

RetireON is provided for personal planning use. Any commercial use—including using the tool to provide paid planning, coaching, advisory, or client services—requires the explicit, written, and documented permission of RetireON. By using this service, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction.

2. RetireON is not a professional financial service.

The handbook, guides, and other educational content provided within RetireON are for general informational purposes only and do not constitute personalized financial, tax, or legal advice. You should consult with a qualified professional before making significant financial decisions.

3. Accuracy & "As-Is" Provision

While every effort is made to ensure the correctness of calculations and tax logic (including RRSP/RRIF rules and CPP/OAS estimates), errors and omissions are possible.

No Warranty: RetireON is provided on an "As-Is" and "As-Available" basis without any warranties of any kind, express or implied.

User Responsibility: You are responsible for verifying the validity of your inputs and the reasonableness of the generated results.

4. Limitation of Liability

Use of RetireON is strictly at your own risk; to the maximum extent permitted by law, RetireON shall not be liable for any damages—including financial losses, tax projection errors, or data loss—resulting from your use of the tool or from service interruptions and technical failures, including those caused by third-party infrastructure or hosting providers. Any financial action taken based on the tool's output, including assumptions regarding future government benefit levels or investment returns, remains your sole responsibility.

5. Privacy & Data

RetireON is a "local-first" application designed with privacy in mind.

Accounts: You may use RetireON’s public educational content and quick estimator without creating an account. A free account is required to access the detailed estimator. If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining control of the email address or Google account used to sign in and for activity performed through your account.

Authentication Provider: RetireON uses Clerk to provide sign-up, sign-in, session, and account-management functions. Google sign-in is also subject to Google’s applicable terms and policies.

Financial Data Storage: Consistent with our Privacy Policy, your detailed financial plan inputs continue to be processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded merely because you sign in. You are solely responsible for the security and backup of plan files saved to your local device or private cloud.

Account Availability: Authentication services may occasionally be unavailable, and RetireON may suspend or remove accounts used unlawfully, abusively, or in a manner that threatens the service or other users.

6. Optional Contributions

Contributions made through the RetireON support link are voluntary. They do not purchase goods or services, unlock content or tools, create a subscription, or entitle the contributor to personalized advice or preferential treatment.

RetireON is not a registered charity. Contributions are not eligible for charitable tax receipts. Payments are processed by Stripe and are also subject to Stripe’s applicable terms and policies.

7. Evolution of Terms

These terms are likely to evolve as RetireON grows and new features are added. By continuing to use the service, you acknowledge and agree to the most current version of these terms.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

9. Intellectual Property

The RetireON name, logo, software code, and proprietary calculation logic are the exclusive property of RetireON. Your license to use the tool for personal planning does not grant you any ownership rights or the right to decompile, reverse-engineer, or distribute the application's underlying logic.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the service (or your access to it) at any time, for any reason, without prior notice.
