RetireON is designed to provide retirement-planning information and tools while minimizing the collection of personal information.
Canadian privacy principles
RetireON treats the ten fair information principles associated with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) as a practical privacy baseline. These principles include accountability, identifying purposes, consent, limiting collection, limiting use, disclosure and retention, accuracy, safeguards, openness, individual access, and challenging compliance.
Which privacy law applies can depend on the organization, activity, and information involved. This statement does not determine the legal jurisdiction of a particular matter. Learn more from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada’s fair information principles.
Financial information stays in your browser
Any financial information you enter into a RetireON calculator or planning tool is processed within your web browser.
RetireON does not receive, transmit, store, or have access to the financial figures you enter. Signing in does not upload those figures, and your entries are not currently saved to a RetireON account or database.
For additional privacy, avoid entering identifying information such as your name, Social Insurance Number, banking information, account numbers, or passwords.
Accounts and authentication
You may use RetireON’s public information and quick estimator without an account. A free account is required to access the detailed estimator. RetireON uses Clerk to provide authentication and account management.
Depending on how you sign in and what you add to your profile, Clerk may process your email address, name, profile image, authentication provider, account identifiers, session information, IP address, browser or device information, and security or authentication logs.
If you choose Google sign-in, Google processes the authentication request under Google’s own terms and privacy practices. RetireON requests only the basic account information needed to identify you and create or access your RetireON account.
Clerk uses cookies and similar browser storage that are necessary to create, protect, and maintain account sessions. Blocking these technologies may prevent sign-up or sign-in from working.
You can review and update your profile, sign out, or delete your RetireON account through the account menu. Deleting an account removes access to it; authentication providers may retain limited security, audit, or backup information according to their policies and legal obligations.
For more information, see Clerk’s privacy information and Google’s Privacy Policy.
Website analytics
RetireON uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall website traffic, monitor website performance, and improve the site.
Cloudflare Web Analytics:
- does not use cookies, local storage, or other persistent client-side identifiers;
- does not fingerprint devices or create persistent profiles of individual visitors;
- does not track individual visitors across different websites; and
- provides aggregate information such as page views, referring sites, general geographic region, browser or device category, and website-performance measurements.
RetireON does not use advertising cookies, visitor-profiling tools, or third-party advertising networks. Authentication cookies are used only for account and security functions. Analytics information is not sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
RetireON also measures a small, fixed set of aggregate interactions—such as opening the estimator, running an estimate, or selecting the contact option—using same-origin marker requests. These requests contain only an allowlisted event name. They do not contain financial entries, form values, account identifiers, or arbitrary event payloads, and they are not sent when the browser signals Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
For more information, see Cloudflare Web Analytics.
Contacting RetireON
RetireON does not operate an online contact-form database.
Selecting the contact option simply opens the default email application on your device. You decide whether to complete and send the email.
No contact information or message is submitted to RetireON unless you choose to send the email from your own email account.
General inquiries may be sent to info@retireon.ca. Privacy requests and complaints should be sent to privacy@retireon.ca.
Information contained in emails
When you email RetireON, the information you include may contain your:
- name;
- email address;
- message; and
- any other information or attachments you voluntarily provide.
This information is used only to read, respond to, and manage your inquiry.
Please do not send sensitive financial information, Social Insurance Numbers, passwords, banking details, medical records, or copies of identity documents by email.
Email retention
Email inquiries and associated attachments are retained for up to 90 days from receipt and are then scheduled for deletion.
A relevant message may be retained longer only when required to address an active legal, security, regulatory, or privacy matter. Any exception is documented, limited to the messages needed for that matter, reviewed at least every 30 days, and ended when the reason for the exception no longer applies.
This schedule applies to copies controlled by RetireON. It does not control copies retained by the sender or the sender’s email provider.
Third-party email services
Incoming messages sent to a @retireon.ca address are routed by Cloudflare and stored in a Google-hosted mailbox. These providers process email content and technical information according to their privacy policies and security practices.
For more information, see Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy and Google’s Privacy Policy.
RetireON cannot control how a visitor’s email provider processes or retains messages.
Optional contributions and Stripe
If you choose to support RetireON, the contribution button takes you to a payment page hosted by Stripe. Payment information is entered directly on Stripe’s website and is processed under Stripe’s privacy and security practices.
Stripe may process information such as your email address, payment method, billing details, contribution amount, currency, transaction status, device information, and fraud-prevention signals. RetireON does not receive your full card number or security code, but Stripe makes limited transaction and contact information available to RetireON for payment administration, receipts, refunds, disputes, and record-keeping.
Making a contribution is optional and is not required to access any RetireON content or tool. For more information, see Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
External links
RetireON may link to government websites and other third-party resources. Those websites have their own privacy policies, cookies, analytics, and data-handling practices.
RetireON is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external websites.

This privacy page may be updated if RetireON’s services or information-handling practices change. The current version and its latest revision date will be posted on this page.
